I believe the Popular Mechanics article on the first air car in this vid said its not currently street legal in the United States because of safety standards and that its components are held together with glue. bummer

The reason why it will be a long time before you see these is simple, it's good old Greed. Watch "Who killed the electric car" it's proof. Pure electric cars would be a simple switch over, the impact on the environment from the extra production and usage of the electricity is allot less then that of the billions of tons of Co2 being pumped into the environment from the petroleum burning vehicles now. Despite this America will continue to make them, why? Because their parts actually wear out.

2 or 4 rotaries will possibly be attached to the wheels directly rather than a central motor. That leaves alot of empty space

This air looks even better. You could run the on board pump from solar I would imagine and recharge on a sunny day. They even spoke in another interview about it's own on board pump attached for near perpetual energy

I'm guessing that Even they know that fossil fuels are limited and that the environment is in a difficult situation. That and other countries are developing these. It isn't here in the USA yet. I hope it does come here though.

This is a very good invention! This is brilliant and simple. It is an obvious winner. What it looks like doesn't matter as much as that it isn't polluting the air. The technology can be used to make many different kinds of shapes. The fact that it works for city driving and the cost is low is a huge deal. I looked up more info on the CityCAT and it looks really impressive. And they have several air car models from taxis to coupes to pickups.
