Daimler Chrysler's Hydrogen Fuel Cell Car

25

This is a look at the Daimler Chrysler's hydrogen fuel cell car. It's not only pollution/emission free vehicle which is great for the environment, but there are many advanced safety features that may soon show up on future generations of Daimler Chrysler automobiles.

bullshit, mercedes is much behind with hydrogen, comparing to honda and bmw.

deweys @ 8:02 am #

oh nice! The seats adjust to fat asses.

laurasIs2c @ 8:02 am #

There's no reason for these cars to cost so much. Mike Strizki has been running his car on Hydrogen Gas for several years and he has no reason to be full of crap.

If they want to run on Hydrogen, and be effecient they can and the expense is more than likely to make us for the owners loss of revenue do to oil profit losses. Unfortunately the likes of these people don't consider the huge unrest of the underclasses in oil rich countries can not be managed for their personal profit.

that's great. to bad they are so expensive. nobody's going to pay a million dollars. unless becomes socialized.

peterbob101 @ 8:02 am #

the hydrogen fuel cell car will never work

racingmustang01 @ 8:02 am #

this is a nice car.

heartlessvietboy @ 8:02 am #

The future is bright.

fizel2 @ 8:02 am #

why aren't we using cars like these? is the technology still too young?

ndyt @ 8:02 am #

it requires 60 kwh of electricity to produce one kg of hydrogen, which in the FCX works out to an efficiency of 1.1 mile/kwh. Plug-in cars with lithium-ion batteries like the Tesla Roadster or the Volt get 5 miles/kwh, for a nearly five-fold increase in efficiency.

jedwhelchel @ 8:02 am #

you can learn how to make your car run on water and burn hydrogen at: thegas4free.blogspot,com

ndyt @ 8:02 am #

These cars cost $1 million each and that price isn't coming down for a long time because the fuel cell is made from platinum and the tanks are carbon fiber that has to hold 10,000 PSI. These are total vapor ware.

johncaldewll the third, you are right. America does its best when faced with a challenge if we actually embrace the need for change, innovation will rise to the challenge if there is a great enough incentive (as if saving the fucking planet isn't great enough). The public just has to do a little research before they buy 'green' shit b/c it isn't all legit. And with the corporate-controlled media, and a country that loves to slurp up whatever corporations put out, that is going to take some work.

I think that geothermal plants, wind and the sea could be used to produce hydrogen that could the be shipped off as oil does now. There are two problems. One, producing the hydrogen, and two, transporting it. Both of these "problems" are actually "opportunities" for entrepreneurs to become richer than anyone alive today.

bwehg @ 8:02 am #

i want to know if a fuel cell takes the place of a car battery and also if yes can you give another car a jump off

MndlbmMndlbmMndlbm @ 8:02 am #

Fuel cell technology gives the apperence of clean energy to the consumer, because the carbon dioxide is being released far away from them and their new, trendy, 'green,' car – at a power plant. We would need a LOT more electricity if people drive as much as they do now and the are using this kind of vehicle. which could mean more coal and oil burning. The Answer is WIND. TIDAL. GEOTHERMAL. SOLAR. DONT LET THE CORPORATIONS TRICK US AGAIN. DEMAND A REAL ENERGY REVOLUTION.

MndlbmMndlbmMndlbm @ 8:02 am #

wrooooong. it takes the same amount of energy to strip the hydrogen out of water as it produces when recombined in a fuel cell. you can use this technology to store energy, but it all matters where it comes from. So long as most of our electricity is from fossil fuels we might as well just burn them right their in the car.

emforty2 @ 8:02 am #

Honda FCX is already on the roads

fayik123 @ 8:02 am #

the majority of people with cars are still using them for short journey which they need to stop doing. use you're car only for long journeys

johnwcaldwell @ 8:02 am #

Many companies will make hydrogen, it's easy. The price of the car will come down, and soon the hydrogen fuel cell will be powering our homes and businesses as well. No more electrical power utility companies, no more global warming. See the future guys — it's here, it just hasn't happened yet!

jakemullick @ 8:02 am #

Shove it in your ass….You stupid cunt. Terrorists benefit more if you rely on gasoline forever..You stupid cunt don't understand that the money we spend on gasoline eventually pours into their pockets. No wonder we don't get anywhere and it is because of asshole cunts like yourself..

artofwheels @ 8:02 am #

1st class! 5 stars

wadishower @ 8:02 am #

the public does not understand some facts:
- like it or not there are no (cheap) oil reserves left, so the world is running out of it rather sooner than later
- any fossil energy we would still find would be more expensive to exploit and harm the environment even more than is the case today
- the hydrocarbons era is out; the hydrogen era is the only clean alternative
I suggest that those intersted read the book from Jeremy Rifkin titled The Hydrogen Economy.

nobssagittarius2 @ 8:02 am #

Your right. Its the engine. (I was thinking of fuel replacements).

djpavlovic @ 8:02 am #

they are hydrogen fuel cells not actual hydrogen fuel like those used in early airships

nobssagittarius2 @ 8:02 am #

Why would the terorrist need planes if the cars are nuclear powerd? (Hydrogen is not a good idea.)
